Why wear my shoes?

May 7, 2010

It’s a big world out there. There’s a place for you. And trust me, you want to find that place. Trying to force yourself into a situation that isn’t meant for you is worse than a waste of time. It’s torture and you don’t need it or deserve it.

First, you’ve got to recognize that you’re amazing. You are. I promise. You may not see it because you’ve been trained to be a drone. But when you’re ready to throw that training away and listen to yourself instead of everyone else, you’ll realize that you’ve got something to offer the world. Then, you can figure out what kind of a place (or person) needs that.

It doesn’t make any more sense to try and hang onto a situation that isn’t right than it does for you to try and wear my shoes. It makes no damn sense at all.

Please. Life is short. There’s so much opportunity for joy and beauty and love and excellence. And when you find the place that is right for you, there’s almost no limit to what you can achieve.
